Team CANCAN was recently featured in a Nature editorial article by award-winning writer Amber Dance that discusses a comprehensive view of the debilitating disease of cachexia. The article discusses all characteristics of cachexia, including the patient’s perspective as to how patients feel, how cachexia affects the brain, potential biomarkers, and organ crosstalk with cachexia. The work of CANCAN investigators Drs. Marcus Goncalves, Mariam Jamal Hanjani, and Tobias Janowitz is highlighted, along with comments from the CANCAN team and some published work from the CANCAN consortium.
