Team CANCAN held its annual symposium at Cold Spring Harbor laboratory, New York from November 2-November 4, 2024. The meeting of 73 attendees featured a poster session with over 20 posters from CANCAN trainees and fellows along with a special patient advocate presentation from Coordinated Specialty Care on their Cancer Cachexia Lexicon project. Symposium festivities were highlighted by a jazz performance by the world-renowned Grammy Award winning Nat Adderley Jr. The science talk sessions exhibited the synergistic power of all 14 institutions and how they have come together through collaboration to produce significant findings. The three-day conference focused on the collaborative project results and a projection forward for the last 2 1/2 years of the grant to produce final data outcomes that link cachexia in the fly, mouse and human physiology.
