This past May, Team CANCAN attended and presented at the CNIO – CaixaResearch Foundation Frontiers Meeting, Metabolism and Cancer: Insights from Obesity and Beyond, which took place in Madrid, Spain, from May 20-22, 2026. Drs. Eileen White, Tobias Janowitz, and Marcus Goncalves presented thought-provoking talks that offered valuable insights into Team CANCAN’s cachexia research. Dr. Eileen White gave the keynote presentation on “Metabolic Alterations Driving Cancer Cachexia.” Dr. Tobias Janowitz presented “Mechanisms of behavioral changes during cancer progression.” while Dr. Marcus Goncalves contributed a principal talk at the conference, titled “Tumor Inflammation and Appetite Loss During Cachexia.” CANCAN contributor Dr. Karen Vousden also spoke on “Metabolic Control of Tumor Progression” during the 3-day conference.
